The March lineup offered something special to enjoy. This post highlights the key events scheduled over the next month, providing details to help you plan your visit and make the most of the cultural offerings at Isithatha Theatre.
" See How They Run" directed by the inimitable Robin Williams whose past productions at Isithatha have always had full houses for the run of the production once again showed why she could pull in the crowds. We were blessed with full or almost full houses, which translated into employment opportunities for our youth which is a great by-product of every production and one of the major aims of this project. We thank all of our patrons for their support! Judging by the comments received, We are sure you enjoyed the farce. We can only apologise for the heat in the theatre, but the more our space gets utilised, the better for us and we can hope to install some air-conditioning for those mid summer evenings! We always have BIG PLANS!
You can always contribute to our back a buddy campaign here. Every $ helps.....
Robin's show was then followed on 26 March by Ms B'Haved created by and featuring the award winning Sue Diepeveen. Sorry if you missed it. By all accounts it was the perfect ending to term 2!
Our team once again rose to the occasion to help put on a great performance. We are hoping to link up more often with Sue as she develops a theatre corridor from The Drama Factory in Somerset West to Isithatha and all points in-between both north and south. This is hopefully the start of a great collaboration.
Finally for those of us old enough to remember there is Tim Plewman of "Defending the Caveman" fame, with his one man show "Epilogue" on 18 and 19 April. Tickets here. Some of us will remember seeing him perform the Caveman on the stage of our Opera House back in the day! Welcome to our theatre, Tim! No Cavemen here, just old relics!
