Our Projects
Isithatha has been hands-on since the commencement of our trust. Upon acquiring our theatre property, we have taken on numerous initiatives in striving for our vision.

Arts Programmes
Theatre and arts training is provided through local arts funding, volunteer teachers & community-led initiatives. We aim to provide training in all sectors of the arts, with a focus on performing arts & theatre practices.

Our Theatre Space
Our heritage building is a hub for our local arts community, where we host training & workshops, as well as venue hire for external events.

Registration as a Public Benefit Organisation
We are currently in the process of amending our Deed of Trust to enable us to be a Public Benefit Organisation. This process is being done PRO BONO for us by PINION AFRICA. A PBO will enable us to issue a Section 18A tax certificate is issued when donations are made to us. This certificate allows the donor to claim a tax deduction for their contribution, as provided by the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

The Book Shack
We have a small bookshop that raises funds for our project, but also provides our members with access to free books as required. We encourage any donations of books to continue with this effort. You may donate books to our Book Shack by contacting Sharon to arrange a time to drop them off.

EarthBound
A large section of our garden is being tenderly cared for by EarthBound. Here, fruits, vegetables & herbs are growing abundantly & we hope that this space will be a reliable food source for our local community in the near future.
